Team BMO is building houses in Los Angeles with Habitat for Humanity
Just a couple miles away from BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, BMO Commercial Bank’s Women’s Collaborative has been hard at work building eight houses in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
The build project in the Florence-Firestone community will be completed over 18 months. Team BMO is participating in eight build days, with twenty BMO volunteers each day. The first BMO build day was on January 11, and we’ll be joining a second build day later this month.
Building homes and financial literacy
Each family receiving a home will contribute a modest down payment, pay an affordable monthly mortgage, participate in the build process with Habitat for Humanity — and complete a robust homeownership counseling curriculum, which BMO volunteers have the opportunity to engage in as part of the partnership.
“This partnership is a perfect example of how BMO Boldly Grows the Good in business and life in the communities we serve. We are excited to continue working with Habitat for Humanity to create affordable homes in the area and look forward to our upcoming build day in April.”
