New CHRO podcast explores how dynamic young leaders get their start

January 19, 2023 | Culture

A new BMO podcast called The Starting Line is providing an inside look at the career experiences shaping a new generation of leaders.

Hosted by Mona Malone, Chief Human Resources Officer and Head, People & Culture, each episode features a conversation with an emerging leader that explores the role of mentors in their development, pivotal experiences in their career journey, and the importance of leader character to their success.

“I know from personal experience that few of us succeed on our own. Our careers, especially in the early stages, are hugely influenced by development and mentorship opportunities. By giving young leaders a platform to share their personal career stories, The Starting Line will help us better understand how to unlock the full potential of our teams – and ourselves.”

– Mona Malone
Chief Human Resources Officer and Head, People & Culture

The pilot episode of The Starting Line features a conversation with Dr. Sonia Kang, the Canada Research Chair in Identity, Diversity and Inclusion. A rising star in the world of academia, Dr. Kang is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at the University of Toronto, where she is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the Rotman School of Management’s Institute for Gender and the Economy.
