City of Milwaukee officially declares “BMO Empower Day” at Summerfest

June 26, 2024 | Giving and sponsorships

Every year, Summerfest comes to the city of Milwaukee, turning the lakefront area into a hub for music, entertainment  and empowerment. BMO has been a proud sponsor for over 15 years, hosting artists on the BMO Pavilion stage, entertaining customers and community partners, and supporting minority-owned businesses as Summerfest Marketplace vendors.

Summerfest 2024 runs Thursdays through Sundays from June 20 through July 6, and BMO customers receive exclusive perks when using a BMO debit or credit card, including entry at the BMO Customer Entrance and a 20 per cent discount on merchandise at the Summerfest Store during the festival.

On opening day, BMO hosted the fourth annual BMO Empower Luncheon, bringing together clients, prospective clients and community partners  to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s BMO Empower Grant Winners:  11 women-owned small businesses that were awarded grants and given the opportunity to work as vendors in the Summerfest Marketplace.

Recognizing BMO’s dedication to forging strategic partnerships that foster deep community engagement – now and in the future – the city of Milwaukee officially declared June 20 to be “BMO Empower Day.” The mayor’s office presented the proclamation at the luncheon, recognizing BMO’s commitment to empowering minority businesses, communities and families in the region through our more than $40 billion community benefits plan.

“We are truly honored by the city of Milwaukee’s proclamation of BMO Empower Day. This recognition underscores our commitment to empowering individuals, families and communities, and making an impact where it really matters. We’re proud to support the growth and empowerment of the city of Milwaukee through this impactful program and excited to bring it to life at Summerfest.”
