BMO Celebrating Women grant takes MsP’sGFree to the next level

“Accidental entrepreneur” Lisa Marsh began baking delicious, nutritious, gluten-free snacks to improve her own health, and she generously shared them with family, friends, and co-workers. After a few years of hearing comments like “these are so good they belong in stores,” she took an accelerator class, certified MsP’sGFree, and began selling her granola products in Chicago-area Whole Foods Markets.

With a mission to help her customers eat cleanly to achieve optimal health, vibrancy, and longevity, Lisa applied to the BMO Celebrating Women grant program, designed to help women business owners access capital to support high-level growth plans. The $10,000 proceeds will enable her to expand her digital footprint, strengthen her supply chain, and attract more buyers.

Lisa’s childhood on Chicago’s South Side spurred her to achieve many firsts for her family, including being the first to start a business after working 27 years in federal law enforcement. BMO is proud to help women entrepreneurs like Lisa succeed. Take two minutes to watch Lisa tell her story of loss, longing, and legacy building.
