November 11: A day of remembrance at BMO

November 8, 2019 | Culture

Every year on November 11, Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the U.S., we remember and honour men and women who have served and continue to serve our countries to protect our freedom.

“As a bank focused on supporting our military communities, Remembrance Day and Veterans Day hold extra significance at BMO,” says Cam Fowler, President, North American Personal & Business Banking, BMO Financial Group. “We are proud to honour the brave men and women who selflessly fought to ensure we can live with the privilege of freedom and peace.”

Poppy campaign throughout our Canadian branches

For over a decade, BMO has been the Official Bank of the Canadian Defence Community. We are proud to participate in The Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Campaign to show our support for serving members, veterans and their families by having poppy trays available in our branches across Canada. If you haven’t already gotten your poppy, the trays will be available until Remembrance Day.

Watch employees from across the bank reciting “In Flanders Fields” and read the perspective of BMO’s Chief Human Resources Officer and Head, People and Culture, Mona Malone, writing in Canadian Military Family Magazine.
