June is National Homeownership Month, and BMO takes great pride in making the dream of owning a home a reality for individuals and families across the United States.

In 2022, BMO committed $40 billion over five years through the Empower initiative to remove barriers to financial inclusion in the United States, including $7.5 billion in home mortgage lending.  

In addition to financial assistance, BMO offers educational resources and tools to help individuals and families make informed decisions and navigate the home buying process with confidence. By providing information on topics such as budgeting, saving for a downpayment, and understanding mortgage rates, they are arming individuals with the knowledge to demystify the homebuying process and what it means to own a home. BMO has also invested in technology to enhance the customer experience and make it easier for customers to apply for mortgages, access account information, and talk to a banker. 

To make an even bigger impact, BMO actively collaborates with nonprofit organizations and community groups that support affordable housing initiatives. Over the past several months, BMO has connected in-person with many community partners and leaders to learn more about how BMO can continue to have a positive impact in the communities they serve.
