BMO Harris Employee Veterans support military families

April 29, 2020 | COVID response, Culture

BMO’s Veteran’s Advisory Council, an Enterprise Resource Group providing fellowship and support to employees who are military veterans, recently partnered with United Service Organization (USO) of Illinois to host a virtual experience for children of military families who have been deployed to assist with COVID-19.

USO Discovery Kids: Builder Bonanza, the virtual experience, brought together the kids of sailors from Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes for a virtual and interactive building session where the kids were given building kits to play with to help open up their imaginations and stimulate on their creativity.

The kids followed along with Matt Pino, elite Lego Builder, to build a LEGO® creation – a space shuttle – and used their extras pieces to customize their spaceships to create their own masterpiece!

“At BMO, we would like to thank everyone for the part they are playing during this time of uncertainty and want to recognize that when service members are called for duty so are their families,” said Juanita Hardin, Head, Risk and Compliance & Chair, Veterans Advisory Council.

During these unprecedented times, BMO is living its Purpose, Boldly Grow the Good – in business and life, and going above and beyond to help those who are being affected by COVID-19. Learn more about how employees are reaching out to their communities.
