BMO Harris Bank receives Five Star ratings from Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility
For the second consecutive year, BMO Harris Bank has received high ratings in the 2021 Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility’s (HACR) annual Corporate Inclusion Index (CII). The index benchmarks the status of Hispanic diversity and inclusion in corporate America.
The HACR CII focuses on four areas: employment, procurement, philanthropy and governance. The rating gives participating companies the opportunity to discuss their diversity and inclusion practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
This year, BMO received five stars, the highest possible rating, in employment and governance.
“We are proud to once again be recognized by HACR for our efforts to provide equitable access and career opportunities for our Hispanic and Latinx colleagues,” said Tracie Morris, U.S. Chief HR and Inclusion Office, NA, BMO Financial Group. “Driven by our Purpose to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life, we continue to look for opportunities to break down barriers to inclusion and improve our practices.”
HACR CII ratings are designed around two focus areas – a practice assessment and an outcomes assessment for each of the four pillars. The practice assessment consists of 25 elements, which examine what type of support or infrastructure a company has in place for diversity and inclusion. The outcomes assessment examines key indicators or measures by which companies evaluate progress or changes on diversity and inclusion efforts.
“On behalf of HACR’s board of directors, we congratulate BMO Harris Bank for keeping Hispanic inclusion top of mind,” said Cid Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of HACR. “By investing in Hispanic representation, businesses like BMO are cultivating a dynamic corporate culture that better serves consumers and employees and provides a competitive edge.”
BMO’s diversity and inclusion practices were also recognized this week in Refinitiv’s ranking of the Top 25 Most Diverse & Inclusive Companies. BMO ranked #22 on the list, which measures and ranks 11,000 publicly listed companies based on 24 metrics across four pillars including diversity, inclusion, people development and controversies.
