BMO grows the good through credit card reward point donations to United Way of Metro Chicago

May 27, 2020 | COVID response, Purpose

During this unprecedented time, BMO Harris Bank is inspired by people and businesses across the country pulling together to help family, friends, neighbors and even strangers. BMO is offering customers one more way to help their communities this week, in line with our Purpose to Boldly Grow the Good.

BMO now allows customers in the Chicagoland area to donate their BMO Harris Bank Credit Card Rewards points to United Way of Metro Chicago, starting at just 500 points. Customers may log into their BMO Harris account to access their credit card account points and choose to donate.

This is just the latest measure BMO has put in place to help direct further support to the important work United Way of Metro Chicago is doing, both during the pandemic and over the many years of our partnership.

BMO has pledged up to $500,000 to support crisis relief efforts in areas of immediate community need across our U.S. footprint, including a $250,000 donation to United Way and the Chicago Community Trust’s Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund.

BMO previously announced a $10 million commitment to the United Way of Metro Chicago that supports United Way’s Neighborhood Network, an initiative designed to reduce economic disparity and create sustainable opportunities in 10 neighborhoods across Chicagoland.

In this unique time of need, BMO is offering several relief measures to support the well-being of our customers, communities and team members. Learn more about how our team members are also stepping up to support communities.
