September 30, 2020 | Recognition

This week, American Banker named Ernie Johannson, Group Head, North American Personal & Business Banking, to its list of the Most Powerful Women in Banking and recognized Sharon Haward-Laird, Head, North American Treasury & Payment Solutions, on its list of the Most Powerful Women to Watch. This is the second consecutive year that both leaders have been featured on these prestigious lists.

The Most Powerful Women in Banking list recognizes the most influential women in financial services by honoring their business acumen, professional achievement and personal tenacity. The Most Powerful Women to Watch list spotlights women to “keep an eye on” in the banking and financial services industry. These rankings represent a “who’s who” of individuals that perform exceptionally and inspire others in our industry and the communities we serve.

You can read more about Ernie’s leadership in launching BMO’s new digital deposits platform, and Sharon’s work to improve client experience through innovative new products including a new biometric authentication platform for commercial banking in their profiles on American Banker’s website. In lieu of an in-person awards ceremony, this year both leaders will be honored by American Banker in a virtual celebration next week.

These recognitions are a testament to Ernie and Sharon’s commitment to our customers and passion for driving BMO’s vision and business forward.
