A retirement to remember in U.S. Commercial
As non-essential businesses remain closed and cities and towns have seemingly come to a halt, certain life events cannot wait – even amidst a global health crisis.
Gail Guida, a Cash Management Specialist on the U.S. Commercial Banking team, was set to retire on April 15th, after serving 41 years at BMO. With her retirement party postponed due to social distancing requirements, the U.S. Commercial Banking team stepped in to organize a proper send-off.
Henry Munez, Head of Diversified Industries Group, Illinois reached out to his colleagues asking them if they’d join him in driving down to BMO’s downtown Chicago office to surprise Gail with a car horn salute. Dozens of her colleagues, including Dave Casper, Group Head, North American Commercial Banking, gathered on LaSalle Street to celebrate Gail and her career at BMO, and wish her well as she begins an exciting new chapter.
Local media caught wind of Gail’s special farewell, and colleagues who joined the celebration also captured the send-off.
“At a time when we’re all missing interaction with our colleagues, this truly was such a special moment,” Dave shared. “I know Gail won’t forget it anytime soon, nor will her colleagues who came out to honor her.”
Congratulations Gail! Thank you for forty-one wonderful years at BMO.
